The front of the ruler shows an image of a knight mounted on a horse on the top and has a timeline listing the kings and queens of Britain and the dates they took the throne.

The timeline starts from Roman Britain in 43-c.450AD with the first ruler, Edward the Confessor, after the Danish rule from 1016-1042.
